More than a week after its partnership announcement with Axie Infinity developer Sky Mavis, GCash’s in-app crypto trading feature GCrypto added the ecosystem’s token Ron to its list of available cryptos. The addition made the total available tokens on the platform to 30.

Ron in GCrypto

On February 12, GCash revised their roster of available Coins within GCrypto, now encompassing Ron among the offerings. The token was officially launched on the app on February 15th.

“GCash’s goal is to create simple and secure bridges to the best that web3 games have to offer, and the $RON token launch is the first step in a long roadmap of tools and improvements we will be working on with Sky Mavis, the Axie Infinity community, and the Ronin ecosystem.”

Luis Buenaventura, Head of Crypto, GCash

At the start of the month, GCash announced its partnership with Axie Infinity to enhance the Filipino web3 gaming experience by introducing a direct on-ramp and off-ramp portal within GCash’s GCrypto platform.

This collaboration will allow Filipino gamers to securely transfer cryptocurrency from the Axie ecosystem to GCrypto and convert in-game currencies to fiat money or Philippine pesos within the same app. Additionally, GCrypto will serve as a conversion portal for other games within Sky Mavis’ Ronin ecosystem. The partnership aims to prioritize industry standards and enhance user safety and security while promoting blockchain technology adoption.
