While the event took place in Copenhagen, Denmark on June 28-29, blockchain enthusiasts and technology aficionados in the Philippines were able to experience Polkadot Decoded 2023 through an exclusive watch party. The event was the annual flagship conference of multichain ecosystem Polkadot.
PH Watch Party
A two-night watch party was held in Bonifacio Global City, Manila, at Brotzeit BGC, Shangri-La The Fort. The local community, including those curious about the Polkadot ecosystem, had the opportunity to gather, connect, and delve deeper into the Polkadot ecosystem.
Attendees were able to participate in live-streamed sessions from the Polkadot Decoded conference in Denmark, had networking opportunities with fellow blockchain enthusiasts, developers, and industry experts, and enjoyed German food and drinks.
With the help of Philippine representatives, attendees engaged in lively discussions, exchanged ideas, and expanded their knowledge of Web3.
As a gesture of gratitude, attendees, both in-person and virtual, were given limited-edition merchandise– exclusive non-fungible token (NFT) as proof of their participation. The tokens are from the recently released Decoded Hybrid Collection; these are classified into three tiers according to their attributes.
Polkadot Decoded
To broaden the event’s reach, Polkadot introduced a hybrid experience that allowed attendees to participate in person or watch the event at their leisure via Polkadot’s innovative Event app.
Polkadot Decoded 2023, the fourth edition of the flagship event, convened more than 100 speakers and 100 blockchain projects, fostering a dynamic setting for learning and collaboration.
Polkadot is a multi-chain network that allows different blockchains to communicate and share data. It is a scalable and secure platform for decentralized applications and Web3 infrastructure.
PH Web3-focused Events 2023
Scheduled for August 7 to 8, 2023– the INDX 3.0, the flagship event of FinTech Alliance PH, is teaming up with Gorriceta Law’s x Tech Summit for its 2023 edition.
This year’s Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW) has been endorsed and supported by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). It is scheduled for September 19 to 21, 2023; it will cover a wide range of topics such as blockchain, fintech, the metaverse, regulation, AI, privacy, and DeFi.
Yield Guild Games (YGG) will host the YGG Web3 Games Summit from November 18 to 25, 2023. This summit will bring together industry leaders, experts, and enthusiasts for a week of insightful discussions, engaging conferences, thrilling tournaments, and an immersive expo.
YGG also organized the Web3 Community Summit, YGG Pilipinas’ mid-year event, last July 14 and 15, 2023. The open conference brought together supporters of the web3 industry and community in the Philippines.
In March, Pouch.ph and Coins.ph organized the inaugural Bitcoin Island Retreat in Boracay, Philippines. The event aimed to bring together Bitcoin thought leaders, investors, and enthusiasts for networking and discussions on the technology.
Also one of the active local events in the country today is Bitskwela’s Bull or Bear Debate, a panel discussion that brings together industry experts and thought leaders from both the web2 and web3 space to delve into topics related to cryptocurrencies and Web3. The debate series began on November 16, 2022, as a side event for the Philippine Web3 Festival. It then expanded to Davao, La Union, and Cebu this year.
Draper Startup House Manila was also actively organizing the monthly local crypto community meetup, Bitcoin, Beer, and Bitstories (BBB), an information-filled gathering of builders dedicated to transforming the future of the web. The event is co-presented by BitPinas.
