Student Pays Meal with Maya, Wins 1M worth of Bitcoin
Reinzel Cabrera, a student from Cebu City, recently won 1,000,000 worth of bitcoin by just paying for his meals through the mobile wallet and cryptocurrency exchange Maya. His win was part of the firm’s promo Maya Free Bitcoin where users are randomly receiving BTC.

Cryptocurrency, as defined by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), is a type of digital currency created by a community of online users, stored in electronic wallets, and generally transacted online.
In a media release, Maya Chief Marketing Officer Pepe Torres expressed their excitement to be the “first Philippine fintech to offer Bitcoin as a reward and form of cashback (or cryptoback!) whenever customers pay merchants with Maya.“
“Maya is already the most accessible way to get into cryptocurrency in the Philippines starting as low as ₱1.00 and our Free Bitcoin promo drives even further accessibility while providing more opportunities for our customers to grow and master their money,” he stated.
