GJobs Job Matching Platform Launched

The mobile e-wallet giant GCash recently collaborated with the job referral platform PasaJob to introduce a new job matching platform called GJobs, which is housed within the GCash superapp.

GJobs was publicly released on September 25, 2023, the over 77 million GCash users can now access this feature. 

In a statement, the firms disclosed that the platform is powered by PasaJob, a “one-of-a-kind job matching platform that is enhanced by a patented long-chain referral system, which streamlines and accelerates the hiring process.”

According to the companies, GJobs aims to solve a problem faced by both employers and job seekers. They noted that the platform and its network of referrers can help connect employers with qualified candidates and job seekers with suitable jobs by facilitating the flow of information through social networks.

To encourage users to share job openings with their family, friends, and colleagues, each job posting on the GJobs platform includes a visible referral fee. The referrer(s) will receive the referral fee once a referred candidate is hired.

Currently, referral fees on GJobs are ranging from ₱1,000 to ₱50,000.

To access the platform, users must open the GCash app, select the “View All” tab, and then click on the “Jobs” feature under the “Enjoy” section.

Prior to continuing, users will be presented with a disclaimer upon opening the feature. The disclaimer states that the products and services on GJobs are solely provided by their partner merchants, and that GCash makes no representations or warranties of any kind. The firm reminds users that any availment of the products and/or services is at their own risk.

Gonzales also highlighted that referring friends or family to a job is a very Filipino custom and something that is ingrained in the country’s culture. He stated that GJobs is taking this concept and creating a user-friendly job board that is driven by referrals.

“We know that this solution will redefine job hunting and job posting, so we hope that people sign up for this service within the GCash superapp,” Gonzales added.

Last August, GCash, in partnership with AB Capital Securities, launched GStocks, an in-app trading platform that allows all its users to trade stocks in over 280 local PSE-listed companies for as low as ₱50.
