Beyond Metro Manila: Web3 Events in Other Philippine Cities

Web3 events are no longer confined to Metro Manila. Since the lifting of physical restrictions, in-person events are also beginning to thrive in other provinces of the country.

Last January, an NFT Art Minting Workshop was held in Baguio City. It was coordinated by Yield Guild Games and the NFTXStreet community, and it aimed to educate local artists about NFTs and blockchain. The event was attended by 50 artists with limited blockchain awareness, and it was guided by then YGG Country Manager, Luis Buenaventura II, a notable NFT artist himself.

Bicol Region has also been active in the field of blockchain technology since last year. Events such as Building on the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) Blockchain, Bicol Blockchain Conference (BBC), Albay Multimedia Arts Convention, the Bicol Web3 Meet Up and BUILDr Dinner were held.
