What is Nyan Hereos?
Nyan Heroes is a hero shooter blockchain game featuring cats piloting giant mechs where in-game items are minted on Solana.
“Master unique abilities, advanced feline agility, and customize your mech for ultimate domination. Even when your mech falls in combat, your cat skills can still turn the tide of the battle for your team,” the team advertised.
It is being developed and produced by 9 Lives Interactive, a Singapore-based game studio that recently secured $3 million in funding to support the global launch of the game. The investment round was led by Mechanism Capital, with participation from Sfermion, Momentum 6, 3Commas Capital, Devmons GG, Kosmos Ventures, and CSP DAO.
According to crypto writer Andrew Hayward, Nyan Heroes can be compared to Blizzard’s hit online game Overwatch, “albeit with cat characters piloting giant mech suits.”:
“It was previously described as a battle royale shooter, akin to Fortnite and Apex Legends, but appears to have shifted gears during development.”
As of this writing, Nyan Heroes is still in a pre-alpha development state. It is expected to open its early access testing period from March 26 to April 9, 2024, on the Epic Games Store.

On March 15, Nyan Heroes shared that over 200,000 people have already wishlisted, with more than 120,000 unique Solana wallets.
Nyan Heroes’ Play-to-Airdrop Guide
Earlier this year, 9 Lives Interactive hinted at an airdrop campaign in line with its early access testing phase and the launch of its utility token, $NYN.
However, the official confirmation of the play-to-airdrop campaign earlier this month changed the token ticker to $NYAN.
Consequently, Nyan Heroes’ play-to-airdrop campaign will be based on a points system, and the points to be collected are called MEOW. The campaign will also have three stages.
This is the first stage of Nyan Heroes’ play-to-airdrop, to join:
- Step 1: Go to https://missions.nyanheroes.com/.
- Step 2: Connect an X or Epic Games account.
- Step 3: Obtain MEOW by:
- Completing the quests.
- Referring new users.
- Step 4: Wait for the confirmation when will MEOW be allowed to convert into $NYAN.
Take note that it is not yet disclosed how much $NYAN will be received per MEOW. The play-to-airdrop campaign is also expected to be active as far as the early access testing period is live.
Update: Season 2 of $NYAN Airdrop Campaign is Live
- In season two, the NYAN airdrop will also include CATNIP points.
- CATNIPs will be harder to obtain compared to MEOWs.
- CATNIP will be obtainable based on performance. Additionally, S1 CATNIP will be transferred to S2 players.
- In the mission dashboard, CATNIP will also be rewarded for social engagements, which include creation of deep dives, memes, gameplay, and tutorials. Content will be judged based on engagement and impressions.
