Wild Forest Introduction

Wild Forest Trailer

Wild Forest (https://playwildforest.io/) is the first blockchain game developed by Zillion Whales, a 10-year-old indie game studio known for its real-time strategy games (RSGs) with multiplayer elements.

While the game studio’s most known developed game is Mushroom Wars 2, which has already received multiple awards, including “Best of App Store” from Apple, Wild Forest would not let itself be left out because it claims to be a free card-collecting RSG an open win economy and fast-paced PvP battles.

This means that through blockchain technology,  NFTs and cryptocurrencies are integrated into the game.

“Blockchain technology plays a crucial role in Wild Forest. The game is deployed on the Ronin network. While being a free and competitive PvP game, it also offers NFT rewards. This means that active and successful players can generate income by trading their digital assets, adding an exciting dimension to the gaming experience,” the game promoted.

Earlier this year, Wild Forest shared that more than a million PVP battles have already been recorded since its beta launch. The beta launch, on the other hand, is said to happen throughout the first quarter of the year.

“Wild Forest offers a thrilling experience with fast-paced PvP battles, making it a must-play for strategy enthusiasts. The game provides a blend of tactical challenges within battles and strategic depth through card-collecting and deck building, ensuring an enjoyable and engaging gaming experience,” the team explained.

Is Wild Forest 100% Play-to-Earn?

Wild Forest’s PVP battles have an arena-like setting. The match begins with an empty base and a swordsman, where players should build buildings, or barracks, at a fast pace until they dominate and conquer each other.

And of course, the player who will destroy the enemy’s base will win. Every PVP win grants the player $FGLD, or Forest Gold, which is a cryptocurrency that is used for common gameplay aspects such as unit card leveling.

Meanwhile, Wild Forest Tokens ($WF) are in-game NFT items that are needed ‌for ranking up units’ card grades and Battle Pass unlocks.

Every unit’s card is also an NFT usable for building card decks, trading for different ones with other players, or merging to create higher-tiered versions.

With these crypto and NFTs, it should be noted that Wild Forest is not 100% play-to-earn. Only those who want to “earn” from this free game can earn. This is because connecting a web3 wallet is not mandatory. Only those who want to sell their $FGLD and trade their NFTs can enjoy the monetary value of these assets.

This is not a new thing, especially since the game is produced by a traditional game studio. In fact, some supporters raised their eyebrows when they learned that the studio was having its first-ever blockchain-integrated game.

Wild Forest Play-to-Airdrop Campaign

Wild Forest’s play-to-airdrop campaign is in line with its $WF launch.

Those who will try and play the game’s beta version can receive points called “Honor,” which can be convertible to rewards soon.

Wild Forest is also giving away “Battle Pass,” which are in-game items that are needed to do the tasks on the campaign.

On the other hand, players are not required to do extra-curricular tasks, as they only need to play the game and complete in-game tasks. They will automatically receive Honor points upon playing the game.

The play-to-airdrop campaign also follows a leaderboard system. However, it is not yet revealed if the rewards will be given according to the points collected, or depending on the player’s rank or tier.
