[Update] Wild Forest Play-to-Airdrop Guide: Just Play and Earn Points

Ronin Network-based blockchain game Wild Forest announced its plans for the rest of the second quarter in a post on X.

The announcement includes the confirmation of its play-to-airdrop (P2A) Season 2. Season 1 aligned with the launch of its in-game token, $WF.

Wild Forest Introduction

Wild Forest (https://playwildforest.io/) is the first blockchain game developed by Zillion Whales, a 10-year-old indie game studio known for its real-time strategy games (RSGs) with multiplayer elements.

While the game studio’s most known developed game is Mushroom Wars 2, which has already received multiple awards, including “Best of App Store” from Apple, Wild Forest would not let itself be left out because it claims to be a free card-collecting RSG an open win economy and fast-paced PvP battles. 

Is Wild Forest 100% Play-to-Earn? 

Wild Forest’s PVP battles have an arena-like setting. The match begins with an empty base and a swordsman, where players should build buildings, or barracks, at a fast pace until they dominate and conquer each other. 

And of course, the player who will destroy the enemy’s base will win. Every PVP win grants the player $FGLD, or Forest Gold, which is a cryptocurrency that is used for common gameplay aspects such as unit card leveling. 

Meanwhile, Wild Forest Tokens ($WF) are in-game NFT items that are needed ‌for ranking up units’ card grades and Battle Pass unlocks. 

Every unit’s card is also an NFT usable for building card decks, trading for different ones with other players, or merging to create higher-tiered versions.

With these crypto and NFTs, it should be noted that Wild Forest is not 100% play-to-earn. Only those who want to “earn” from this free game can earn. This is because connecting a web3 wallet is not mandatory. Only those who want to sell their $FGLD and trade their NFTs can enjoy the monetary value of these assets. 

This is not a new thing, especially since the game is produced by a traditional game studio. In fact, some supporters raised their eyebrows when they learned that the studio was having its first-ever blockchain-integrated game.

Wild Forest’s play-to-airdrop campaign is in line with its $WF launch. 

The developers of Wild Forest stated that sharing the game’s plans aims to assure players that progress is ongoing as they prepare for the hard launch.

Wild Forest, developed by Zillion Whales, is distinct from the studio’s other real-time strategy (RTS) games due to its integration with NFTs and cryptocurrencies. It is a free-to-play game with an arena-like setting for PvP battles. To enable the play-to-earn feature, players must own NFTs and connect their web3 wallet. Each unit’s card is an NFT used for building card decks, trading, or merging to create higher-tier versions.

Wild Forest also features an in-game token, Forest Gold ($FGLD), obtainable by winning battles and used for common gameplay aspects such as unit card leveling. The Wild Forest token ($WF) is an in-game NFT item needed for ranking up unit card grades and Battle Pass unlocks. While players can earn $FGLD and own NFTs in the free-to-play feature, they cannot sell them.

The first activity this quarter is the pre-release NFT sale of $WF on May 23. Whitelist spots will be distributed to beta version participants. Interested players can whitelist at playwildforest.io/whitelist. Some beta version players received whitelist spots as early as February.

On June 5 and 6, there will be a community round for KOLS and Lord NFT holders and a public community round of $WF on Impossible Finance. Lord NFTs can be purchased at marketplace.skymavis.com.

Since $WF is not yet launched, some in-game rewards during the beta phase were called units. These can be swapped into $WF once the token generation event happens in June. According to the developers, “We are preparing to release in June and will let you convert your Beta Units and $WF into the release assets.”

Wild Forest Play-to-Airdrop Season 2

Earlier this year, Wild Forest hosted Season 1 of its play-to-airdrop campaign aligned with the $WF launch. This campaign required no extra tasks; players just played the game to earn points called “Honor.”

The first season has concluded, with rewards to be distributed after the $WF launch. P2A Season 2 will start at the same time as the reward distribution for Season 1. As of now, no details are released on how to farm rewards for Season 2. Interested players can visit playwildforest.io/airdrop/quests.

“Wen $WF? Actual dates depend on market conditions and confirmations from CEXes, but we will let you know as soon as we set the date,” Wild Forest concluded. “These are just the major events—we will have more exciting partnerships, announcements, and activities coming up!”
